In recent days, rumors have been swirling about Paris Saint-Germain's pursuit of Atalanta's rising star, Ademola Lookman. However, Liverpool is reportedly plotting a last-minute swoop for the Nigerian forward as the summer transfer window draws to a close, aiming to strengthen their attacking lineup.
A recent report suggests that Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United have all shown interest in Lookman, but it’s PSG who has allegedly ramped up efforts to secure the talented player. Yet, according to journalist Matteo Moretto, PSG’s move for Lookman is losing momentum. Despite verbal discussions, the French giants have not yet made a formal offer to Atalanta, and a significant gap remains between the two clubs' expectations.
This standoff could open the door for a rival club to step in, and Liverpool appears ready to pounce. Journalist Graeme Bailey, via TEAMTalk, reveals that Liverpool has been closely monitoring Lookman's situation since the start of the summer. With PSG now in the mix, the Reds might be compelled to intensify their pursuit to avoid losing out on the 26-year-old winger.
Arsenal is also keeping a close eye on the situation, though they are currently in a more observational role. Lookman, who joined Atalanta in 2022, had a stellar season, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists in 45 appearances. His crowning achievement came in the UEFA Europa League final, where he delivered a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen, further solidifying his status as a sought-after talent in European football.
